When William Cornwell was in a car accident on the highway, he didn’t think much of it. There was no major damage. His car had a scratch on the driver’s side. In fact, he was able to drive away. William’s insurance company told him they were willing to settle his case. He had a damaged car and a visit to the emergency room. The insurance company offered a few thousand dollars. Finally, he had limited liability insurance. Should he take it? The ER told him he would be fine, but we told him to wait. A month passed and Mr. Cornwell was no better. In fact, he was getting worse and worse. The pain was so bad that William couldn’t work. So he went to his doctor. The doctor performed an MRI and found a fracture and severe bruise on his hip. He recommended physical therapy. William began physical therapy. After a month of physical therapy, he returned to his doctor. There was no improvement in mobility or pain. So his doctor ran a few more tests. It appears that William had more injuries than were detected in the initial MRI.

William had to undergo hip replacement surgery. After the operation he was unable to work for several months. Even after the surgery healed, William was unable to work. After 30 years with the same company, he took early retirement.
